Local Influencer
Salary: £21,000
Despite what the name might suggest, this role is not to do with being a social media influencer, rather the successful applicant will be influencing change in our local community. They will be recruiting a whole new team of volunteers who will work together to identify local issues that need campaigning on or changing. They will then work to bring about that change locally on behalf of Swale Foodbank.
We are looking for a very specific kind of person for this exciting new role in the Swale Foodbank team. The most important thing we are looking for is someone who is passionate about ending poverty and achieving change. You will be engaging with all kinds of people – politicians, local councillors, referral agencies, members of the public and of course our team of staff and volunteers who all have experience working with our clients.
You will need to be able to think outside the box and have a creative mind to tackle deep-rooted issues in a new and innovative way. You will definitely be a people-person – this whole role is working with people from all walks of life so you will need to be as comfortable talking to people with lived experience as you are talking to the local MP or local councillors. You will need to be able to talk sensitively about very personal issues that have affected those you are engaging with.
As well as being a people-person, you will be organised and able to prioritise a varied workload. Part of this role will be researching the reasons why people need to use our foodbank, so you will need to be comfortable with various research methods and collating that data.
Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 29th August 2022.
